About Us

The Dixie Regional Hosta Society is comprised of over 500 members in 12 southeastern states from Texas to Virginia. Our society is dedicated to the study and improvement of the genus Hosta, and the education of our members in the characteristics, care and cultivation of hostas .  Anyone who is a member of a local hosta society within our region is eligible for membership.  If you are a member of The American Hosta Society, you are also eligible.  There are no dues nor fees – our funds are generated through a lively, fun auction held during our annual convention.

Our annual convention offers an educational experience for gardeners in the southeast to learn about growing hostas in our hot, humid climate.  Members have an opportunity to attend seminars and presentations by renowned “hostarians,” as well as other experts, on various hosta/shade gardening subjects.  They will visit exceptional private gardens not open to the public, may purchase plants from vendors who are some of the finest hosta growers and hybridizers in the country, and mingle with new friends as well as old ones.
